A feeling in the air!

Sunday was a wonderful day at Leesburg. During our time of prayer with some of our elders praying for those in need several were touched for healing and other needs in their lives. Pastor Josh preached about how as we see the signs of the end times coming closer and closer, we are not to hid our heads. Yet we are to be like the 5 wise virgins who had their lamps full of oil (the Holy Spirit) and be 'doing' when the Lord returns fulfilling our purpose in Him.

Sunday night we had a several guest with us to come enjoy the ministry of John and Alexis Williams. The Williams sang and played some worship songs and Bro. John preached to us. We were blessed by their ministry as several came to the altars. Thank God for HIS touch!

First Sunday in March

On Sunday morning, Pastor Josh and his family was out of town for a family baby dedication that was held in Knoxville, TN. Associate Pastor Isaac Goza conducted and preached the morning service. Bro. Isaac has always served the local church very faithfully and has done a great job in doing it. We are so blessed to have such a man serving God's people.

Sunday night the area churches meet at the Collinsville Church of God of Prophecy - Harvest Center- for a service conducted by the state youth ministries headed up by State Youth Director Tim Beck. Over 20 people from the Leesburg Church attended the service. Many have already said how they enjoyed the service. During the service our Youth Director, Corey Ivey, and Pastor Josh ministered to a young man in the fellowship hall through some very heavy issues. At the end of the evening the young man prayed for repentance and ultimately to give everything to God. Praise God, He saves in the alter and at the table. Thank God!

A day of Healing

Sunday we finished our focus on Stewardship as we talked about giving and the blessings of being a good steward. Yet the most memorable event of the the day was God's touch to many during a time of prayer for healing. So many have been afflicted in their bodies. We felt the Lord leading us to pray and stand for healing. We read several scriptures to build our faith on God's healing power and the fact He has given us the authority to heal in His name. Many came up for prayer as those that was full of faith laid hands on them to recover. We felt the Lord move and touch hearts throughout the congregation. We have heard of several that are feeling much better by the Lord's help. The one testimony that seems to stand out the strongest was a dear saint. She shared how she could not put any weight on her left leg or foot. She was using a walking cane to get around. After prayer she began to move and walk around without the walker. She said she went home and put it over in one side of the room and came back to church without it. Praise God ! He still HEALS!

Great Sunday

We had a great day at Leesburg Church Sunday.

We had two new members join the church- Praise God! Darrell and Sarah Pierce joined the church. Darrell was a charter member many years ago. We are so thankful for this wonderful family.

We also had the wonderful benefit of dedicated a child to the Lord. The Crane's dedicated little Janey to the Lord. We are so thankful for what God will do in this life!

This Week at Leesburg

Tuesday night-

at 7 PM the Men and Women will be having another practice for the Valentine's Church Party.

Wednesday-

Church at 7 PM- Bible Study for both youth, children, young adults, and adults

Saturday-

Valentine's Church Party- come to eat and have a good time!

SUNDAY- THE BIG DAY- Come to worship God and hear from His Word !

10 AM Sunday School

11 AM Worship

6 PM Evening Service- Bro. Kenley Farley will be preaching to us!

Sunday Night- Souper Bowl Party

We had a great time Sunday night at our Souper Bowl Party. Sister Nona won the championship beating out our chili winner, Bro. Darrell. We raised $370 for our building fund- Praise God. We had a great time watching the ‘Big Game.’ It is great to fellowship with God’s people!

Bishop Artis Decker Obituary

Rev. Artis L. Decker age 82 of Leesburg passed away Thursday January 14, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Decker will be 3: P.M. Sunday at Leesburg Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Wayne Craig, assisted by state overseer Rev. L.V. Jones, and Rev. Joshua Lynn officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Garden. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1:P.M. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Scott Elrod, Clint Decker, Eric Bridges and Kris Parker, Great – Grandsons: Owen Mackiewicz and Josh Decker, and Brian Lowe and Dustin StClair. Honorary Pallbearers: Danny St.Clair, Isaac Goza, James Pitts, Jimmy Bridges.

Memorials may be made to the Leesburg Church of God of Prophecy Haiti church relief fund or the family will accept flowers.

Mr. Decker is survived by his wife Reba Nell Copeland Decker; son Kenneth (Sarah) Decker, Leesburg; daughters: Brenda (Billy) Elrod, East Gadsden, Nona (Jimmy) Bridges, Gadsden, Lisa Mosley, Oxford; sister; Evelyn Hull, McCalla, Al. Grandchildren; Scott and Jody Elrod, Clint Decker, Eric Bridges, Kaci Decker Lowe, Kris Parker, Randa Morgan, Three - Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Decker was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Parker; brother: Clarence W. Decker; sister; Tommie Lou Decker.

Mr. Decker was known in Cherokee county as “Brother Decker.” For over forty years his ministry included conducting many marriages, funerals, baby dedications, and saw many souls come to know the Lord. He retired from pastoral work in July 1999. The Lord has a record of all he has done and will reward him in heaven.
